For local nodes, the reflected memory board appears as shared memory. Any level of software, including the application itself, can write data to or read from memory. Data written to the reflected memory of one node is transmitted by the network hardware to all other nodes and placed at the same address on the reflected memory boards of those nodes. This data transfer can be done without the involvement of processors on any node. With this system, all nodes on the network have a local copy of the shared data that is instantly accessible.
