GE manufactured the DS3800NHVD1D1B as a high-voltage card to fit its Mark IV system. The system was created for gas turbine or steam turbine management and is capable of automating certain procedures for more consistent management. This includes processes such as startup and shutdown. The Mark IV is also capable of monitoring fuel, air and water emissions.

The DS3800NHVD1D1B has an oval cut milled from the upper half of the board. The long dimensions of each ellipse are parallel to the short end of DS3800NHVD1D1B. The board was also drilled 16 times by the factory, in pairs of two pieces, and marked with alignment marks (A to L).

The DS3800NHVD1D1B consists of three transformers (218A4499 P2C1), three red leds, two connector points and four communication connectors. The communication connector is broken down into a vertical (male) multi-pin connector and three 4-pin connectors.
