The Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 is an SLC 500 discrete input module. The module operates in a nominal voltage of 24VDC and a voltage range of 15-30V DC @ 50 °C (122 °F) or 15-26.4V DC @ 60 °C (140 °F). The module is commonly used to connect electrical devices such as switches, sensors, auxiliary contacts, and other binary or on/off devices. Up to thirty-two (32) input signals can be connected to the module via embedded 32 input module channels.
It is compatible with any SLC 500 processor and ideally with SLC 500 modular style hardware. It supports local installation along the controller, extension I/O rack, or installation along the SLC 500 communication adapter to the remote I/O chassis. It is installed directly into any available slot in the 1746 chassis, with the exception of slot 500 reserved for the SLC 1 controller.
1746-IB32 backplane current consumption at 50VDC is 5 mA, maximum turn-off state input voltage is 5VDC, nominal input current is 5.1 Ma@24V DC, maximum turn-off state input current is 1.5 mA, For ON to OFF and OFF to ON signal conversions, the typical signal delay is 8 ms.
