The Allen Bradley 1747-L511 is an SLC 5/01 processor and part of the SLC 500 system. It is a small, easy to use processor with a wide range of applications including small process control, material handling, HVAC control and more. It contains an advanced instruction set based on the PLC-5 processor and can be used independently or distributed throughout the SCADA application.

The 1747-L511 processor has a total user memory of 1 K. It has up to 960 local digital I/ OS; The program scan time for each keyword is 8 milliseconds and the I/O scan time is 2.6 milliseconds. The backplane current is 5 mA at 350 volts DC and 24 mA at 105 volts DC, and it has up to 3 local I/O enclosures in the local I/O chassis with up to 30 module I/O slots. For communication, it uses DH-485, which can only send or receive messages but cannot start them.

This module is not compatible with the 1746-BLM, 1746-BTM, 1746-MPM, 1746-HS, 1746-HSCE, 1746-QV, 1747-SN, 1747-SDN, or 1747-SCNR15 modules. It is suitable for clean and dry industrial environment, the operating temperature is 0-60 degrees Celsius, and the working impact is 30 g. It has a backup battery for the 1747-L514 module and a capacitor backup for the 1747-L511 module, and includes a red PC run, CPU failure, forced I/O and low battery, LED status indicator for troubleshooting and diagnosis.

The 1747-L511 is the entry-level processor for the SLC 500 modular hardware. The processor has the most basic features, with 1KB of memory, enabling it to process up to 3940 IO signals. However, this module does not support the implementation of remote I/O topologies. It can only expand up to three (3) SLC enclosures of any type or up to 30 IO slots. The processor meets the UL certification of the US and Canadian safety standards, meets the CE standard, and carries the C-Tick mark.

The processor has a memory backup option for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM), which is essentially non-volatile memory that can be used to permanently store programmable logic controller (PLC) programs to prevent accidental erasure usually caused by power surges and battery depletion. It can also be configured to automatically load user programs each time a power cycle is started.

The processor's integrated memory is random access memory (RAM), which is maintained by a lithium battery and can last up to two (2) years. The battery level is indicated by the low battery LED light and activated when the battery is low. This battery can be replaced with 1747-BA, but do not replace the battery after disconnecting the power supply. The power supply must be active when replacing the processor, otherwise the user program will be deleted.

In addition to the battery indicator, this processor is equipped with other LED status indicators. These indicators include running, CPU failure, and forced I/O.
