The Allen-Bradley 1768-L45 is a CompactLogix controller that offers advanced features and cost-effective solutions for mid-size automation needs. The controller is particularly Logix capable with a larger integrated memory of 3MB, supports up to four (4) 1768 module expansions, and thirty (30) 1769 compact I/O modules that can be installed in three (3) expansion groups.

This controller provides 3MB memory allocation. Optional non-volatile memory can be added using CompactFlash 1784-CF128. The controller is also embedded with a fully isolated RS232 communication port. It supports a maximum speed of 38.4 Kbps. This serial communication port supports DF1 full duplex and half duplex as well as DH485 communication protocols. The recommended cable to establish communication with the embedded serial port is 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, which is the right Angle connector of the controller, directly to the serial port, with a length of 3 meters.

For Ethernet communication and any other communication protocol, the 1768-L45 supports the installation of up to two (2) communication modules. Especially for Ethernet, 1768-ENBT and 1768-EWEB can be installed.
