The 1771-IXE requires a single slot to fit in the 1771 I/O case and does not require an external power supply. The 1771-IXE module has eight floating differential inputs for thermocouple or millivolt input ranges, including type E, J, K, T, R, and S thermocouples and +/-100 millivolts. Allow 8 inputs of the same type or 2 inputs of 4 different types. The 1771-IXE includes cold end compensation with a range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and an accuracy of +/-0.5 degrees Celsius. The keying tape must be placed between pins 20 to 22 and 24 to 26, and they only accept this module. The 1771-IXE module has user selectable high and low temperature alarms. It contains a green RUN and a red FLT indicator on the front panel to show power and fault status. During power-on, it performs a self-diagnosis and reports its status. It provides open circuit detection in case of thermocouple failure. The 1771-IXE automatically calibrates the offset and gain of each channel without the need for a potentiometer.
