Allen-Bradley 1794-IE8 is a component module of the Flex I/O product family. The module is an analog input module that is used with a Flex I/O communication adapter and terminal dock to implement a distributed I/O architecture.

The module uses the module's eight (8) single-ended, non-isolated, user-configurable channels capable of receiving 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA, +/ -10VDC, and 0 to 10VDC input signals. The module is capable of connecting instruments such as field transmitters, analog indicating instruments, loggers, process loop controllers and other analog instruments that generate a compatible signal range.

This Flex I/O analog input module is configured as a 12-bit sign in unipolar mode and an 11-bit plus sign in bipolar mode. It uses successive approximate conversions and saves the converted data in an EFT-aligned, 16-bit 2s complement data format. It has a conversion rate of 256 seconds on all channels, an absolute accuracy of 0.20% full scale @25°C, a voltage accuracy drift of -0.00428% full scale /°C, and a current input of 0.00407% full scale /°C. This module does not require calibration.

1794-IE8 requires an external supply voltage range of 10.5-31.2VDC and a nominal supply voltage of 24VDC. It requires 60 mA of supply current. It requires installation and connection of input signal wiring using a terminal base. Compatible terminal bases are 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3 and 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3T and 1794-TB3TS. Modules require only one terminal base.

This Flex I/O module is compatible with Flex I/O communication adapters such as Ethernet, control network, remote I/O adapters.

This module does not need to be calibrated beyond factory Settings. It measures 3.7 x 2.1 x 31.8 inches and can be mounted on a DIN rail or directly panel mounted. The 1794-IE8 module can be installed on a 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3ST, 1794-TB3T, or 1794-TB3 terminal base. It also comes with power and status indicators and has an open housing. The module has a rated voltage specification of 24 volts DC and a supply voltage range of 10.5 to 31.2 VDC, including 5% AC ripple.
