The DS3800HSHA is part of the Speedtronic Mark IV turbine control family. The board, produced by General Electric, is a highway circuit board. Mark systems have been used for decades to help control turbines and ensure operator safety.

DS3800HSHA has a total of 25 integrated circuits. These chips each contain very small versions of electrical components such as capacitors, diodes and resistors. The jumper pins, including the red jumper, are arranged in two separate groups at the top and bottom of the board. Around the circuit board are many capacitors of different sizes, in blue or yellow. The DS3800HSHA has a number of resistors with bands of multiple colors. These colored bands indicate the energy capacity of the resistor.

A set of test points is located on the right edge of the board, allowing the board operator to test whether the board is working properly. Test points are labeled with names such as DATA, DSYNC, RST, COM, and SYNC. Located next to these test points are three light-emitting diodes, commonly known as leds. One LED is orange and the other two are red. Some non-luminous silver diodes are also located on the card. The DS3800HSHA has two connector ports. The larger of the two ports is on the left side of the card, and the smaller of the two ports is on the right.
