The DS3800HMPF1C1B is a controller module designed to accommodate General Electric's Mark IV control system. The Mark IV is a version of GE's Speedtronic system successfully used to control industrial gas and steam turbine systems. The Speedtronic system began in the 1960s with the Mark I. The Mark IV is the first of these systems to offer triple modular redundancy control.

The DS3800HMPF1C1B is one of the earlier controller modules. It is built around the IMB 8086 microprocessor chip. The chip uses a 40-pin package and HMOS technology. It can transmit data in the form of 8 bits or 16 bits in one bus cycle. This is the third generation of Intel products designed to take instructions from memory, read, execute and, if necessary, write the results.

The DS3800HMPF1C1B is the only controller module available for the Mark IV. It works with two other controllers in a triple modular redundancy architecture where all data is voted before being used for output or control.

The DS3800HMPF1C1B is designed as a rectangular plate with each corner drilled in the factory. Extractor clamps are installed at both corners. The board edge also includes a right-angle connector, two leds, and several jumper switches. Opposite edges of the board are fitted with backplanes. The board is designed with vertical connectors and brackets so that auxiliary boards can be added when needed. Other board components include resistor network arrays, integrated circuits, capacitors, and resistors. The board is marked with its board ID and the General Electric logo.
