The GE Network Controller board DS3800HLND is designed for quick installation in drives. The board has a modular connector at one end and a fixed rod at the other end. The GE network controller board DS1HLND is also equipped with 3,800 red LED indicators that can be seen from the front of the board. The board also features three jumpers and eight erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules.

The GE network controller board DS3800HLND also has a 40-pin connector and a 20-pin connector. Connectors can be accessed from the front of the board between the holding rods. The EPROM module stores the code that the board uses to process instructions. It consists of firmware and instruction code. After downloading, the updated code can be stored on the module. However, the code that comes with the board at the factory is usually not updated, but used for processing.
