The GE Logic Element Board DS3800HLEA has a modular connector for connecting to the driver and a retaining rod for attaching the board to the driver. The GE Logic Element Board DS3800HLEA also has 10 LED indicators visible from the front of the board and 3 jumpers. The board is equipped with resistors and capacitors. It also has an air shunt that directs airflow to the components.

Another component on the board is a transistor-to-transistor logic (TTL) device. It serves as the interface logic between integrated circuits. The GE Logic Element Board DS3800HLEA is designed for easy installation in a drive. It is also easy to remove from the drive. This will be helpful if the board has to be replaced because it is defective or must be repaired or maintained. The board's design also reduces the number of cables and power cords in the drive. The power cord can cause interference that reduces the signal passing from one board to another in the drive.
