The GE Series driver/receiver board DS3800HDRA has modular connectors for connecting to the driver and a retainer rod for securing the driver in the drive. The GE line driver/receiver board DS3800HDRA also houses 2 jumpers and multiple capacitors. The board also features 2 40-pin connectors that can be accessed from the front of the board.

When the board is mounted in the drive, the operator has access to 2 40-pin connectors. However, any cable connected to the connector should only be touched after the drive is powered off.

Disconnect the power supply from the driver. Ensure that all power supplies are disconnected from the driver. Frequency converters have multiple current sources, and only those familiar with installation can know the power supply and how to disconnect them. Before touching the board, use a fully functional test device to confirm that all power is disconnected.

Be familiar with emergency power cutoff devices associated with drives. In an emergency, shutting down can disconnect all power to the drive. It is important that 2 technicians be present at all times to repair the drive. If one technician is in an emergency, another technician can call for help, turn off the power, or assist another technician.

Before starting the installation, check that the area around the drive is secure. Make sure the floor is dry and free of oil and debris. If there is moisture on the floor, clean the water first. If moisture reappears, you may need to install a dehumidifier to keep the floor dry.
