The MTL5544S provides fully floating DC power for powering two conventional 2-wire or 3-wire 4/20mA or HART transmitters located in the hazard zone and repeating current in other circuits to drive both safe-zone loads.

MTL5544S For smart transmitters, the device allows bidirectional transmission of digital communication signals superimposed on the MTL5544S 4/20mA loop current. Alternatively, the MTL5544S acts as a current absorber for safe zone connections rather than driving current into the load. Individually powered current sources, such as 4-wire transmitters, can be connected, but HART communication is not supported.
