The Hydran M2 is a compact, permanently installed online transformer monitoring device that will warn personnel of developing fault conditions. It continuously monitors the combined value (ppm) of various faulty gases or the hydrogen value only (depending on the sensor purchased). In addition, it tracks the moisture in the oil (reading units are %RH and ppm).

By adding additional sensors, the Hydran M2 can also calculate a mathematical model of the transformer based on IEEE and IEC standards to provide more information about the transformer's performance.
