The TVOC-2 Arc Protection system is an arc protection relay that mitigates arc failures and helps protect people and equipment. The arc monitor is the host of the arc protection system, which detects the light of the arc and sends an electrical signal through a fast IGBT contact to a nearby circuit breaker within 1 millisecond, thus disconnecting the power supply and extinguishing the arc. The arc monitor has 10 detector inputs and can trip up to three regionally selective circuit breakers if required. Up to 2 expansion units can expand the number of light detectors to 30, and the unit includes an HMI that can be placed outside the door. The detector has a wide range of lengths to accommodate a complete switchgear design. Supply voltage 100... 250 V DC or 100... 240 V AC 50/60 Hz.
