The core of the xme-653 module is the Intel233MHz MMX CPU combined with 512K synchronous level 2 piped cache and up to 256 MB of memory fast page or EDO DRAM.

The module contains a wide range of I/O, including PCI graphics, EIDE and Ethernet controllers, a universal serial bus (USB) interface, two high-speed serial ports, an EPP/ECP parallel port, PS/2 style keyboard and mouse ports. Further I/O extensions can be made using Xycom Automation's Modular I/O Carrier Module (xme-976), which provides a mechanism to extend your system using PMC, PC/104, Short ISA, or PCI modules.
