The 3500 power module is a half-height module and must be installed in the specially designed slot on the left of the rack in the cabinet. The 3500 rack can accommodate one or two power supplies (any combination of AC and/or DC) and any one power supply can power the entire rack. If installed, a second power supply acts as a backup primary supply. When two power supplies are installed in a rack, the power supply in the lower slot of the cabinet acts as the main power supply, and the power supply in the upper slot acts as the backup power supply. If a second power supply is installed, the operation of the rack will be interrupted.
