The 1769-OF4 is an Allen-Bradley Programmable Automation controller (PAC) assembly designed specifically for use as an analog output module for MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers. The analog output module is designed to drive regulatory final control elements (FCE) of a specific control loop, such as regulator valves, variable frequency drivers (VFDS), dampers, shutters and indicating devices, such as indicators, loggers, data loggers and others.
The analog output has an embedded four (4) single-ended output channels. Each channel can be configured individually for signal types, such as 0-20mA and 4-20 mA current signals and ±10V DC, 0 to 10V DC, 0 to 5V DC, and 1 to 5Vdc voltage signals. The module has an output resolution of 15 bits and can be configured for unipolar and bipolar operation. The analog signal can be used as a control output (CO) for a proportional + integral + differential (PID) controller, or to re-transmit the signal to receiving elements such as indicators, loggers, data loggers, converters, and other similar instruments. Analog output signals can also be activated via a human-machine interface (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), distributed control systems (DCS), and other computer-based or electrically-based manual loaders.
The 1769-OF4 supports installation using either a MicroLogix 1500 controller or a CompactLogix controller, however, module instances are limited based on rated power distance. For 1769-OF4, the required distance is eight (8). If more than 8 modules are required, another power supply can be installed in the CompactLogix assembly to authenticate the other modules.
