The 1783-BMS06TA switch is an Allen-Bradley 5700 series managed Ethernet switch with six ports. All 6 switch ports are copper ports and they support fast Ethernet. Ports that support optical SFP are not available on the 1783-BMS06TA switch. The full suite of supported security features includes MAC ID port security, IEEE 802.1x security, CIP port control and fault detection, and TACACS+ Radius authentication and encryption (with a separate IOS).

Duplicate IP detection, port mirroring, system logging, and disconnection detection are supported diagnostic functions, while SNMP, smart port, DHCP per port, and CLI functions are supported management functions of the 1783-BMS06TA switch. Network address translation (NAT) is available as a separate option. The alarm relay on the 1783-BMS06TA switch is rated for 1 amp (30 volts DC) or 0.5 amp (48 volts DC).
