The 2198-H040-ERS drive's safe torque shutdown feature is hardwired, requiring an STO connector to connect external devices and cascade the safe connection from one drive to another, with a maximum response time of 12 milliseconds. It works by forcing the power transistor control signal to power off when a monitored digital input is received. This function reduces the probability of failure. If your app does not require this feature, you can install a jumper to bypass the STO. When the STO is disabled, all output power transistors are released from the ON state, leaving the drive in the taxi state.
The 2198-H040-ERS module comes with installation instructions, a plug connector for parallel power /RC connection, a connector kit for motor feedback, and for safety torque off (STO), motor power supply, motor brake (BC), main input power supply (IPD), digital input (IOD), and 24 Volt control input power (CP) connector. It is designed for both grounded and ungrounded power installation environments. The ground screw is installed for grounding configuration by default. Remove ungrounded, impedance grounded, or angular grounded systems when they are used.
